Hi Guillaume,

hm - not a bad idea basically, but especially the vectors for scale, rotation and offset use real world measures and I would like to keep them that way.
I am thinking about using three Number controls (which can have more digits) instead of the vector for the interface and the vector just for the input connection (where more digits seem to be kept). Having the interface value as well as the input, I would even be able to mimic the messiah input behaviour where you can mix the interface value with the input very easily. Hm - I have to try that...

But please please pretty please Softimage allow more digits in later versions of XSI on all controls! :-)

Thanks for the kind words about AoN:Studio - I love noises and fractals a lot and the first thing I tested when I got XSI was the procedurals - Iiiiiieeeeek... >LOL<

So has anybody any idea about using FCurves for shaders? That is the only thing I haven't found a workaround for yet...

Best regards,

Thomas Helzle

My second problem is the 3 decimals limit on everything but Number

I would love to be able to have a global preference to use at least 4-6
decimals.
I don't know spdl but maybe you could expose a bigger number to the user and
then multiply it.
For example, if the slider start at 0.001 in a PPG, maybe it's possible to
multiply this value by 0.001 in your
spdl ?

PS : I used messiah studio in the past. Your shader collection is great !

Dear list,

for my upcoming AoN:XSI ("The Art of Noise for XSI") shaders, I would love
to have FCurves for some shading parameters (like ZCurves in ZBrush). Is
there any possible way to use them for shaders? The docs for Shader SPDLs
don't mention FCurves and my initial hacking tests were unsuccessful - is
that due to some (in-)compatibility with MR or are there other reasons?
If yes: Does anyone know ways around it?

I've searched the archives but while it was discussed before, I wasn't
able to find a solution. Is there any?

And third: Is there a way to sync the three values of a vector control
like you can with color controls when holding down STRG/CTRL?
Or do I have to implement something like this with the Logic section in
the SPDL manually and add an On/Off switch for the sync to the UI?

Thank you very much for any suggestions and pointers or code examples!

Cheers,
