Also happens with the dopesheet.

XSI is undoubtedly the most fragile of all the 3D apps when it comes to
tolerance to graphics hardware and drivers.

yeah its dumping XSI i get the "successfully saved scene blah blah blah"

error and then it locks up. i actually have to logout and log in to even

get xsi to run again.
like you said it only happens intermittently but it is driving me nuts. 
i have to save everytime i want to open the damned animation editor.
