Howdy,
Yeah with my facial rig (based on osipa's) you form lipsync by
combining the mouth shapes.
This creates more convincing lipsync as the mouth shapes are dynamic,
by that i mean you dont have a defined 'TH, T, B' etc shapes, as
depending on the words not every 'T' shapes looks the same.
If you plan it right it isnt very complex at all.
Having static defined lipsync mouth shapes is alot quicker, but tends
not to look as polished as the former approach.
Hope that made sense :)
Cheers

Hi!
Sorry for hijacking the thread. (very nice real Brad!)
Ok, when people make facial control that are that complex...do they also
make lip-sync shapes or they just go about making every lip-syncing with
these controls and animate away the dialog?
I think I read somewhere that Pixar doesn't make lip-sync shapes the
animators would just use the controls as they go along.
I guess it also depends on how fast you need to animate and how much the
character is going to be used...
If you have any toughts on the subject feel free to speak up!
thanks
