Hi Thomas et all,
I was speed-reading through this thread, eating my left-over tandoori
chicken, and thought I should interject to put the record straight.
If you are planning on developing plugins for commercial purposes and/or
if you want to use Softimage logos in your plugin, you need to join the
Softimage Developer Program.
This Program entitles you to a one-year developer license, full support
for our SDK via our private web area page (examples and C++ programming
question support), as well as any updates to the software that occur
during that one-year period.
Thomas, I sent you the pdf's that gave more details on the pricing and
whatnot and gave you instructions as to what needed to be signed in
order to join the program. I think I also mentioned that if you found
the membership fee to be too prohibitive, to send me a proposal of why
Softimage should sponsor you into the program.
We are definitely interested in helping all developers' projects out
there come to fruition, and are willing to discuss ways to help them do
so. However, we do need to see a project proposal...
I hope this is useful information for everyone. If you find that the
information in my email or on the web is a bit confusing, sorry about
that. We will try to clean that up in the near future...
Thanks and by the way, I'm leaving for L.A. tomorrow and probably won't
be reading the XSI list for a couple of weeks, so please don't be
insulted if I don't answer to any emails on the list.
(wipes some &&^%$(at)*^&!! mint-yogurt sauce from her new skirt)
Thanks,
Christine
