Title: Xgs_Slate v1.5 - custom display callback now available on XSI Net ( w/ source code )

Dear Alain,

I was wondering if there was a fix for the refresh on this plug-in.

If a scene is renamed, the scene name doe not get refreshed in XGS Slate.

Cheers

Andre

Greetings,

Just a quick note to mention that I published a new version of Xgs_Slate ( v1.5 ) on XSI Net.

Go to http://www.softimage.com/xsinet and look under "add-ons" or search for "Xgs_Slate".

The archive contains Xgs_Slate version 1.5 compiled for XSI v4.0 and another one compiled for XSI 4.2.

The plugin source code is included.

Installation :

  • download archive ( 050117 - Xgs_Slate v1.5 - All.zip )
  • XSI 4.0 : extract "050118_Xgs_Slate_v1.5_XSI_4.0.xsiaddon", install the Addon and restart XSI
  • XSI 4.2 : extract "050117_Xgs_Slate_v1.5_XSI_4.2.xsiaddon", install the Addon and restart XSI
  • File > Preferences > Custom > Xgs_Slate : allows you to modify the plugin parameters

NOTE : a bug was found in XSI which causes it to crash when trying to uninstall an addon containing a XGS plugin. If you already installed the addon on a machine and wish to replace it with a newer version, you can avoid this issue as following :

  • quit XSI
  • go into your user installation folder, e.g. : C:\Private\Setup\users\alainl\Softimage\XSI_4.2
  • delete file Data\Preferences\Xgs_Slate.Preset
  • edit file Data\Preferences\default.xsipref ( text file ) and remove any references to Xgs_Slate parameters ( if any )
  • delete the addon file from Addons\InstalledAddons
  • delete the Addons\Xgs_Slate folder
  • launch XSI
  • install the addon
  • restart XSI
  • all should be working fine

Modifications from v1.4 to v1.5 :

  • replaced the Mask "Aspect Ratio" parameter with a "Standard" pulldown menu containing standard aspect ratio definitions like the ones found under Camera > Properties, as well as the ability to specify a "Custom Ratio" value
  • renamed "Mask Colour" as "Outside Color"
  • added "Inside Colour" parameters to control the color of the view inside the mask
  • added "Field Guide" control parameters :
    • new parameter to control display of the Field Guide
    • new parameter to indicate the display area : View, Mask or User-defined ( in this case a "Standard" pulldown menu and "Custom Ratio" parameters are available to specify the area )
    • new "Safe Title" and "Safe Action" parameters which replicate the options available in the Visibility Options
