Wait... what? Can you explain a little further? Is it the same frame for
the 3 computers? I'm curious because I have an Athlon 64 3500+ at home and
at work we had a XEON farm with those exact specs, and I know that my athlon
isn't anywhere near that close to those xeons.

I made a test here a few weeks ago (though I wrote down the wrong
opteron version which now is corrected)

It was a fairly simple scene with dirtmap, reflections and a toon
shader. This is the comparisment for the frame that took the longest time.

1 x AMD Athlon64 3500+, 1GB Ram 04:29
2 x Intel XEON 3.2 Ghz, 2GB Ram 04:03
2 x AMD Opteron 250, 2GB Ram 02:11

Anyone have the experience use a Dual core AMD 4400 Athlon vs a dual core, dual Opteron 275.?

The Opterons Dual cores are twice as much money as the Athlon Dual

cores.

Someone told me the Athlon 4400 is about the same speed as a Dual core
Opteron 275. I am deciding between 2 dual core Athlon vs 1 Dual, dual core Opteron.
