I believe that if you turn on "progress reports" in your Render Region or Render options that you will get feedback as to which machine is rendering which tile as well as a cumulative total for each machine.

Subject: satellite rendering
Hello all,
I've had a hardware change recently and am finally moving back to XSI after several years. In the effort to get 4.2 up and running I'm trying to get satellite rendering working. I've come across something odd and I can't be sure what to make of this as I'm not that familiar with Soft on Windows. I currently have XSI installed, and I've installed a render slave on another machine. I've defined the .ray3hosts file and all port numbers match. On the system running the satellite, raysatxsi4_2ser is up and running as a system process. When I execute a region render from the master, raysatxsi4_2ser on the slave doesn't do anything, instead I see a command called dxver run on the slave for a period and then it goes away. From the interface where the master region render is executed I see no information in the script editor which confirms that it actually did satellite render. The render itself doesnt show two distinct areas of image being rendered simultaneously. It's unclear if th!
is
dxver is related to XSI but coincidentally it doesn't seem to be related to anything else, but more importantly it's not clear if this dxver process is just XSI communicating with the slave but not rendering anything. A couple of questions, how do I determine if satellite rendering is actually working, and is there any way to qualify it's performance?
Thanks
