I'm sorry if you see it that way, Michael, but when I spend thousands and of pounds every year on software and maintenance contracts etc why should I put up with people like Joel and whoever else, whinning on about a couple of hundered dollars. If 'hobbyists' as they may call themselves, want to own proffesional software, they either put up with the price, or get off this bl**dy list.
If they have a real issue with it, they should talk to Softimage about it, and leave this list out of it.

Chris, this is fairly rude. It is also degrading to call people's concerns
about money 'whining.' I'm a foundation user, may or may not upgrade, and not
a whiner. But different people have different goals and resources.

Softimage can charge whatever they like. I think the software is well worth
the upgrade price. I thought the original $495 was a steal. Now, the real
question folks have to ask is it worth it to them?

I agree that pricing discussions can get a bit crazy, and this will be my last
post on the subject, but please, a little consideration would help.

Michael
