Duplicate Geometry

A blast from the past...
Does anyone remember a very nice little command in Soft3D under duplicate called "DuplicateGeometry"? Basically you have a curve or mesh, give it a target and destination and it snaps exactly to the target and assumes the same number of points/vertices.
And now for the obvious question, does this still exist somewhere in the XSi vaults or is there a simple way to do this in our beloved newfangled contraption?
