I've been running XSI on and off on an Acer 110 tablet without much issue for
over a year now.

The screen res is a little low so you need a special XSI layout. I'm sure their
newer tablets probably have larger screens so maybe thats not a problem.

My co-workers constantly gawk at the tiny little laptop running XSI and comment
that it looks like a palm pilot.

The integrated intel graphics are not all that fast but I've not had any
compatibility or draw problems with them.

I wouldn't recommend it for fulltime XSI work but as a laptop that you can count
on to run XSI in a pinch, its doing a good job.

the processor is a 900mhz centrino which is not all that fast. It doesn't seem
to be a bottleneck however. I outfitted it with a gig of ram and that seems to
offset the processor well.

My accesories that I tend to take along with me are: my ipod which I use as
external storage. a flexible indestructable keyboard (compusa) with a number
pad. a wireless optical mouse (logitec). I find these are neccesary for
working in XSI.

Also, I find the tablet nature to be useless in XSI. Even for weight painting.
Specifically because your hand covers most of the display. Unlike with an
external wacom tablet, where you can see the whole display while painting.
That said, the tablet nature is very useful for other programs so I do
recommend it. Just don't expect to use the tablet features with XSI unless you
have an external monitor to twin your display for you.
