Subject : Reference Model workflow question

I’m trying to approach a new problem for me and want to bounce an idea off the wizened folks of the list.  My scene is basically a large Greek temple. It has a fair amount of geometry. I’m using Reference models to instance columns and elements around. The only animation is on the camera. I’m pretty much just doing fly-throughs. Would it be best for me to put all of my geometry in a big Ref Model and import that into scenes to animate with? There is always the possibility of having to add some objects or make modifications to the building. It would be nice to have changes ripple through my different shots. Am I approaching this the best way or would it be better to invert it and use actions on cameras or cameras in models?

Thanks

Byron
