No, had it on windows using a windows server
too.
amount of files is the main
factor,
going across the network doesnt help,
especially if you are a lot to want to access the same disk all the time (and
using it to render and composite and... at the same
time)
the size of the files can influence a bit
too,
if you put each sequence into a folder of its own
you speed up the browsing enormously.
(but thats not allways how you want to
organise)
windows explorer is usually faster to show the
contents of the folder, so when it gets unpleasantly slow,
I copy and paste the path from explorer to
flipbook, type the image name and padding and such, without browsing.
If you make no errors, you get to
see your sequence instantly.
I use the "launch flipbook" from the rendersettings
or FXtree output pretty often now to avoid browsing.
