I is like every time with XSI:
They have the beta, then they have the pre-release test cycle, there is a release date and a shipping date. I think the release date
is planned half a year before that release date. Often they can't guarantee this date. A lot of bugs is found at the end. Including
new features is faster than getting all bugs. (have the same problem, I never mentioned an official release date, but I could
release it to my "internal" release date )

Take a look at Fusion. They announced Fusion 5 at siggraph 2004!
Tehy have said that fusion will be released in the next time, "everyone that buys Fusion 4 after siggraph 04, gets a free update to
Fusion 5.
This year at the siggraph they have puplished a *shipping* date on 31. Aug.
Yesterday they have send an information mail, that they are working on it. It would be possible to order fusion 5 this/next week,
but no shipping date...

I can't wait to use XSI 5.0, but the less bugs, the better. Lot of new features to test.
