Yes it has always been that way.
That was done to permit shortcuts like

mygrid.posx = 4

rather than requiring

mygrid.kinematics.local.posx

However convenience comes at a cost! So for performance critical scripts it is better not to access parameters from the X3Dobject level.

Subject: [script] Local kinematics in object parameters

Hello,

To my great surprise, when I get the parameters of, say, a CameraRig,
I get the local kinematics parameters of the object.

ie:

oObject = selection(0)
logmessage( oObject.parameters.count )

Is it me or has it always been that way?

Thanks
Bernard
