Here's a FxTree Scene with a Crop Node workaround.

I scaled also down the original picture also with Photoshop [bilinear] and in my FxTree you can compare the rendered result of the left tree with the Photoshop one.
Mathcomp difference shows that the results are/seem identical.
 
Does that mean just a auto-crop feature is missing in the resize node beside missing float support, of course?!
