Yeah why not. Actually Texture_Space_Gen, Texture_Edit and Image_Lookup together work great for me.
But all that math... Transforming projection in space isn't just as straight-foward as I thought finally.
 
Kim & Frank, thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with the Particle Cloud primitive.
Looks like XSI's enfant terrible has stroke once again.
