It's possible to use the old Batchserve (v1.5.3) with 5.0
All you have to do is edit the XSI_Client.bat file which is probably located at C:\Softimage\XSIBatchServeClient_1.5.3\bin
Change: call C:\Softimage\XSI_4.2\Application\bin\Setenv.bat
to
call C:\Softimage\XSI_5.0\Application\bin\Setenv.bat
You'll have to do this on every render client. I found that it generally works quite well, so I'm not sure if I'm going to upgrade to 1.5.4. Are there any other benefits? I had a few render errors with some scenes that originated in 4.2, but after merging them with new 5.0 scenes everything went perfectly.
