Luke,
There is a known bug where clicking on one of the new view layout icons
(in the lower left) and then clicking on the 4 view layout icon (in the lower
left) will cause the viewport icons to disappear. Clicking again on the 4 view
layout icon restores them in this case.
In an application like XSI there can be many ways to accomplish the same
thing so it is not impossible for something like this to fall through the cracks
if the majority of our QA and Beta testers are used to working a different way.
(or it could even be a hardware problem as mentioned by someone else) If you can
consistently reproduce a problem the best thing to do is send a bug report to support(at)softimage.com

missing. The shading menu and camera memory buttons are visible. There seems to
