Oops, I didn't realize there are two different Booleans. Thanks!
Yes, the modify-boolean looks much better to me, but still I have too many steps if I want just to transfer some selected polys to my main mesh.

What kind of plugin would be needed to implement this kind of functionality? Where in the SDK would I start?
