Hey, we're glad you like them !
About the feature of scaling a fwd or bwd handle, this is already there.
You just need to hold shift (for scaling only) and use MMB (for this side only) on the handle extremity.
About the problem of keeping the shape when converting, yes this is a known limitation of the feature "set knot multiplicity" that we are using under the hood.
Thanks to report.

Dear Softimage,
I got my XSI 5.0 license yesterday and the first thing that I checked out on the software was the Bezier curves. Considering that I've been one of the the most vocal complainers regarding a lack of Bezier curves in just about every 3D software I use lately, I wanted to take the time to express my opinion about XSI 5's Beziers. Job nicely done folks! What an incredible breath of fresh air. This has to be one of the most sophisticated implementations of Bezier controls I've seen in over 18 years of doing graphics. Almost every control appears to be accessible via the handles or context menus. You can even affect the handles and their points via standard manipulators. The only features I have been unable to find is the ability to scale a Fwd or Bwd handle without scaling it's opposite and maintaining alignment, and the ability to convert a modified Bezier to NURBS while holding it's shape, Soft|3D could do both of these. However, I've barely scratched the surface of this tool !
so I assume I am overlooking a means by which these things can be achieved. Regardless, what in incredibly useful tool. Thank you! Job well done!
