Okay I have been pulling my hairs for a few things over the past few
days, and at this point I begin to suspect that it might be related to
our network activity vs capacity, because there are strange things
happening.
Since a few days, some render nodes can't get a license. Our license
server has enough license for every nodes, the license server is
exclusive to these machines. But yet once in a while, many machine log
this:
License warning: feature [XSI Batch] not available
License warning: feature [XSI Batch Lin32] not available
License warning: feature [XSI Batch All32] not available
License warning: feature [XSI Batch Universal] not available

Also, in the same vein.....
Nodes, at certain periods, have problems accessing workgroup
ressources, specifically shaders. All shaders that originate from the
workgroup will not render, resulting in a transparent object. In the
XSIBATCH log, I get this message:
'ERROR : Could not find shader ''. Check installation.
Now the weird thing is that these problems, as far as I can tell,
appear to be periodic. For example when I left the studio yesterday,
there was absolutely no problem.
I come this morning and it's the apocalypse, all jobs using custom
shaders is wrong.
In an attempt to fix these problems I have formatted a few nodes and
then settuped them, created a brand new workgroup with the shaders
properly installed, but yet nothing will do. All was working fine
yesterday but not today.
Also, logged as root, I have given full recursive permissions (777, I
know, dangerous...) on the workgroup locations. So for now I don't see
any reason to suspect permissions.
Anyone has something to suggest?
Thanks
Bernard
