Capture window in the wrong place

Subject : Capture window in the wrong place

when i make a capture from any viewport the capture window is opens in the bottom right of my monitor causing part of the capture to be obscured and a black band where capture window dissapears off screen

see attached image.

does anyone know how to re-set the capture window back to its correct position?
