You DO NOT have to do this if you are running off a dongle - just move the dongle onto the new machine, install SPM as usual and install the license key that you were using ont he new machine! The license key works with the dongle - NOT the computer!

Install everything on the new system. Including License server. Then generate a new request code and file that using the licensing request code request form on the SoftImage licensing request code request form webpage. Then wait 1-2 Business days in which the license fairy will knit a new key for your system. That key can then be loaded. I had mine next day. I guess it depends on the workload.

Hi,

how does one change XSI from one computer to a new one? http://www.softimage.com/Support/XSI/Licensing/

doesn't give me any clues. Do I have to do the whole Licensing thing
again, or can I just copy the old files over and plugin the dongle in the
new computer?
I haven't tried this yet, I am just trying to anticipate/firgure out how
long this will take.
