The client install is different from the network installation explained below.

The client setup downloadable from the same web page as XSI, is a 4 Mb setup that will leave XSI files on the shared install, but will do local registry install, in order for XSI to be started remotly. Please read the Setup and Licensing guide for detailed install help for Linux and Windows.

All that really does is expand the compressed portion of the install then
creates the install spec file, which is text. You can extract the install
using winrar or winzip then create the spec file yourself.

The catch is to be sure to include the install path in the command line:

	setup.exe -profile:Z:\profiles\default.ini -installpath:c:\softimage
-noreboot

And add a line to add the workgroup using xsibatch -w

And spec file (profile) looks something like this:

[Miscellaneous]
CheckForInternetExplorer=NO
[Setup]
Type=Custom install
XSI Guides=NO
SOFTIMAGE XSI=YES
[Migration]
UserWantsToMigrate=No
Overwrite=No
UserRoot=c:\users
[MentalRaySat]
Port=7003
InstallService=YES
[SPM]
Port=7050
Server=boxx2
