I use 'C' and RMB up and down to scale the value,
and right and left to scale time. MMB to drag. This is with the XSI keys
btw

navigation
Haha, that was me and I personally want to thank you for fixing
this. Sorry Stefan.
I prefer qwerty and the maya style navigation so
much more and now ALL views use the same navigation as viewports. This was
such a nice supprise for v5. Although I wasn't sure that this affected the xsi
style navigation.
Remind me about this next time we see each other.
I'll buy you enough beers to get you nice and happy :)

Mr. McPherson... what did you think? that
we as animators will easily adapt this new way of thinking? We can only
adapt new kinds of beer fast... functions in a application takes longer
time :)
That aside, which key do you mean that I should hold down in
conjuction with Shift and MMB? I can't seem to get the same behavior as
before, now it more resembles how it is in Shake... which I... don't
like so much...
