Check to make sure that your object is not excluded from the list of
associated models for that particular light. (Check the
inclusive/exclusive setting for the light, and then check the
"Associated Models" node in the explorer) I'm not in front of XSI
ATM, so I can't remember exactly how it works.

WHY??? I also froze everythhing. So all is plain vanilla polymeshes.
The light is shining at everything else BUT the vessel. The vessel remains unlit by that light. GAHHHH. I played with pretty much all the
sliders like fall off etc.. For no avail. There must be something I don't know about... sighhhhhhhh
Besides that point light there is a spot light which acts rather 'normal' and as expected.
