Oh yes, getting the system to run properly indeed is a very exciting experience...

"Mom, it doesn't print!"
"Why?"
"There is no 64bit driver available!"

Maybe, but if it was me I'd want to investigate those codecs to see if they
really were 64 bit. If they weren't then I'd be suspicious.

The other stuff, hard to tell but I was using 64 bit on my last project
which lasted a couple of months and didn't have problems other than finding
64 bit dlls.

I don't think so. We're talking about codecs that come along with the default Windows installation, like the Cinepak one. That stuff is accessable and usable through other software, it looks like XSI is sorting them out for some strange reason...

It may be that the codecs you have aren't 64 bit? Wild stab

Hi,

I just noticed that the list of available AVI codecs in the

Viewport

Capture dialogue has decreased to only four in v5.0, which

are all not

suitable for my needs. Starting XSI 4.2, I get the complete list of all codecs installed on the machine, so it doesn't seem to be a Windows-related problem. Anyone else experience something similar?
Running XSI 64bit, btw...

Cheers!

  -André
