True, you cannot login as admin on XP home, but there is an easy work around 
for basic admin tasks:

For Device Manager try typing "sysdm.cpl" without the quotes into Start>Run 
and then accessing it from the Hardware tab. Or try "devmgmt.msc".
For User Accounts type "nusrmgr.cpl".

Other than this minor annoyance I cannot see the diff with the pro version 
for a single machine setup
