You are not the only one who runs into problems with that. Axel Akesson at
Passion is also stucked by MB anomalies ...
Displacement mapping is still randomly buggy. We had also some strange MB
problems with a character test when we switched to 5.0.
We thought it could be also Royal Render related?! But now I see that it's
not just a problem here.
Actually we can't report more problems regarding MB. But there are some
missions coming up under deadline pressure and now we are not sure if it's
too dangerous to switch completely to >unstable< 5.0.1?
Keeping 4.2, over and out!

Subject: serious displacement/mb bugs?
we are having quite serious problems rendering with motion blur as well as
with displacement. it seems to be quite random so difficult to track down.
regarding displacment: a great amount of rendertiles doesnt seem to be
tesselated properly resulting in popping of displaced geometry. everything
is rendered on a single machine. sending packets larger than one frame to
the farm results in a good first frame, then bad tesselation afterwards...mb
sucks too, once turned on, objects just render black randomly...then again,
instances render buggy with mb...is there any qfe's to fix this? apart from
that, i keep loosing my custom keyboard mapping...all this with 5.01
