If you want a quick fix, edit the RenderOptions.spdl. Find the line where it says:

    pset.MaxSamplingLevel = 0

And remove it.

Now get back in your cave, Adrian.

RANT/

set max aliasing level to 6, because you want nice smooth renders, render and watch the max aliasing level
RESET ITSELF!!!!

repeatedly!!

then spend ages writing a scripted op to FORCE it to be 6 because you WANT nice smooth images...

hmmmm, not a lot to ask is it, to fix this, maybe, seeing as we render LOADS of hidden line stuff?

Render Options>Aliasing>Max Level ? set it to 0

SetValue "Passes.Default_Pass.RenderOptions.MaxSamplingLevel", 0

Now watch it fly! J

Hi guys,

one part of the problem is solved, I should have a better look at formats settings in my passes ;)

The sloooowwww renders are still there. Why is it that a simple hidden line render takes almost as long as my "normal" render??

Will appreciate some good tips, have about 500 frames to do and this tempo is getting me nowhere :\

cheers,

rob

Hi guys,

I'm trying to render a simple 360 turntable, from rig to hidden line geo to render final.

When I try to render anything other than with the MR renderer, XSI just locks up all CPU power, but nothing is rendered.

I get a OGL view, but it looks like it's rendering the viewport like 4x as large? Must be some logic in there somewhere..

Tried all non MR options, no luck so far. Will a viewport "grab" render the same way??

It's possible to open up the Task Manager and close XSI, but mouse movement and pc respons is very slooooooooooowww... ;)

any1 on this,
