im with stefan,
7800 gtx. A quadro 540 sounds like a weak link in a dual opteron box? unless its mostly for rendering?

Hi folks,
finally my trusty old Athlon MP 2,0+ system is giving out. So I
decided to get a Dual Opteron 246 on Tyan K8WE, 4G DDR RAM. But the
question is what graphics board am I gonna get? I was thinking either
a ATI FireGL 5100 or a PNY QuadroFX 540? Anyone got any other idea?
What the deal with softmodding a normal Geforce? I briefly looked at
the relevant threads on the board, but did not find anything on the
performance of the ATI. Thanks for your help!
