If you select your passes in the order you want them to render, it will follow that order
and if you render in batch. in the order you put the names, that will be the order that will follow

hope it helps

Hi Halfdan,

I'm also with Kris on this one. But it's not that much of a biggy for me....

The big one for me is that there seems to be no way to order the way passes will be rendered (i.e. I absolutley *have* to get this occlusion pass rendered, but if the shadow pass renders it's just a bonus)... If I want to prioritize my passes on the farm I have to use the -pass "blah, blah" route, which can sometimes be a right pain if you have ten or so passes. Perhaps if this is hard to add, just adding a -nopass switch to XSIBatch would at least ease the pain so I only have to write the names of passes I *don't* want to render instead of the 9 out of 10 that I do....

Just a thought.

Cheers,

DAN

In the explorer: View -> General Sort -> None (creation). Followed by: View -> Reorder Tool

Re-order objects to your liking.
We generally list things now in alphabetical order in menus because an overwhelming majority of users complained that they couldn't find their passes (and clips etc) in a reasonable time when they were arranged in a seemingly random fashion. Looks like Kris is the odd one out.

Would like to see this for every aspect of the explorer not just passes.
Was setting up a scene the other day and wanted certian objects arranged
close to eachother for easy access. Admittedly I could group them
together but that doesnt completely solve the problem and I'm not sure
how wise that is just to be able have a selection group when all I want
is three or four objects close together in the explorer. Further you
can't group passes so that doesnt address that issue either. Basically I
want to put whatever object wherever I want it in the explorer, whatever
mode. However, would love to have this as a preference option, as there
are cases when the alpha-numeric ordering comes in handy.

Patiently waiting for Christmas....
