You are heartless, and cruel, and you have my gratitude.

Actually, in celebration of my 20,000th line of Python code, made possible by help from O'Reilly's "Learning Python" book, I put down my copy of the latest Chuck Palahniuk opus in favor of the O'Reilly Python Cookbook... for some light reading.

O'Reilly's character development is thoughtful and credible, and he puts them in interesting situations leaving the reader wanting to see how they respond. However, the overall plot lacks any real continuity, feeling more like a collection of short stories than a coherent narrative. I'm a few chapters in, and it's starting to get frustrating. If the str data type doesn't confront the tuple in the next 10 pages, I'm closing O'Reilly and going back to Chuck. At least *he* knows how to throw in a plot twist every now and again.

Oh, and Greg doesn't know I *borrowed* his Python Cookbook, so nobody say anything.
