It depends on your needs. There are a number of places that do it as well as a number of ways and resolutions/accuracy. Structured light scanners of all kinds, cyberware, xyzrgb, digitizers...etc.
 
I would look at cost for the accuracy and turn around time. Do you need 3 to 10 Million poly scan and are you willing to pay for it? Turn around can be quick or it could take a little time with alignment depending on what scanner you go with.

Has anyone had any experience getting real objects scanned? Someone dropped off a statue for us to "scan into 3D" for them. I wonder if the scanning prices are comparable to the time it would take for me to model the thing from scratch?
