Thanks Morgan. Having to do it all manually in the weight editor is a pain indeed, especially if you want to reassign to several deformers at once... :/

Marek,

I've also had this problem a few times before. It's a bug in XSI which I
have tried reporting to Soft. They said they hadn't come across it
before. However, google seems to be well aware of the issue ;-) The only
thing I can suggest is that you switch to the weight editor and paint
tool to do the weighting manually. It's a pain, but as far as I know
there are no other work arounds. I can't help feeling that it has
something to do with freezing the weights but I struggle to replicate
the error to prove this.

If anyone has found any work arounds I'd be glad to hear it.

Subject: [envelope] local reassign problem

Hi,

I'm having a problem here with a character envelope where I want to reassign points locally. When I select some points, chose local reassign, and pick a deformer (which already is a deformer for the envelope), I get the following error:

'ERROR : 2006-DEFO-SILocalAssignFlexEnv - Unexpected failure. - [line 1575 in C:\Softimage\XSI_4.2\Application\DSScripts\operators.vbs]

It used to work before. Anyone knows what the problem could be?

Thanks,
Marek
