Don't know any equivalent in XSI though, sorry. Fastest thing I can think of is draw the curves, extrude trunk, select a poly where you want a branch, extrude along spline etc. till you're done. Would be nice to have in XSI though.

Does anyone remember way way back in Soft 3D, there used to be a tool, that you could draw a load of curves, select them and then a circle and it would extrude through all the curves and create joints as well...
 
I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. And sadly all the old 3D websites are now gone.. anyway I digress..
 
Is there a way to do this in XSI ??
