One of the best Soft3D sites is still around ...I archived it on my server:

While it would be a pain in the ass to make, I wish there were something like this for XSI. It is a very handy teaching tool.

Even if you don't need Soft3D info, this is a neat idea.

Try searching for LSystems on google. You'll probably find some cool apps.

Don't know any equivalent in XSI though, sorry. Fastest thing I can think of is draw the curves, extrude trunk, select a poly where you want a branch, extrude along spline etc. till you're done. Would be nice to have in XSI though.

Good luck!

Does anyone remember way way back in Soft 3D, there used to be a tool, that you could draw a load of curves, select them and then a circle and it would extrude through all the curves and create joints as well...

I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. And sadly all the old 3D websites are now gone.. anyway I digress..

Is there a way to do this in XSI ??
