well there is in fact a lot of animation in the trees, in some more, in others less…..
and the 3d scene is already seperated from the composting scene……

Very strange. I'm guessing there isn't much animation in the fxtree? If so for now just split the scene in two scenes that have only the 3D and only the Fxtree , change the timing on the 3D scene and remerge the fxtree back it back together (File|Merge)
