So you need one license per render node?

Gene,

This what they sent to me, you end up paying for 8 X $199.00 that will also give you an open licence.

Does anyone know how evasion handles x-dof licenses in a renderfarm situation? Will one seat work with the whole farm? Or is it one seat, one rack?

I found that tut on combining 2D and 3D DOF's. I had to search XSIBase for stuff older than 1 year.
My only question now is what is difference between the "2D_depth_of_field" and "2D_auto_depth_of_field" shaders?

Yeah just a quick depth pass.

Do you have to feed Lescare a depth pass or anything? I did see X-DOF, I was hoping to get out without having to get the powers-that-be to spend any cash. We'll see...

I'm using this one (http://www.frischluft.com/lenscare/introduction.php ) as I type. Everything seems to be working decent so far but it is my first time using this plugin, so we'll see.

Btw, did you see that X-Dof is available for xsi v5 now? http://www.evasion3d.com/xd_lw_intro.html

I'm trying to get some shots out with DOF under deadline. I haven't been able to get zDepthDOF to work so I'm tooling around with what options I have already in XSI. The Lens shader looks nice but is pretty slow. Are there any drawbacks to the "2D_auto_depth_of_field" Pass shader? Are there any other options I'm missing other than creating my own DOF in post with a Depth Pass?

Thanks
