I just made the same experience.
I needed a bunch of 3D models very quickly, and the overall quality on
Turbosquid seems to be horrible.
There are some really nice models buried under a sh!tload of awful
models. And the biggest problem: almost all models are only available in
.max format.
I mean what's that all about? Do people think that Max is the only 3D
package out there?
Is it really so hard to offer .obj versions or at least use a 3D format
that can be read by anything else than frickin Max?
I'm really upset right now - waiting for the Max Trial to finish
downloading.
Cheers,
Chris
All of these formats... What a pain in the ass. Turbo Squid is a mess. You're never quite sure what you're getting. Viewpoint had it's problems, one of which was cost, but the kind of garbage models and variety of formats on Turbo Squid is just rediculous. I saw someone download what they though was an Acacia tree model, only to find that it was an elaborately cut out poly with a texture map of the tree on it.
