Subject : setting up propmodels for referencing
Hi folks,

I´m currently modeling setprops, mostly inanimate furniture
and would like to make use of filereferencing when putting
together the indoor set(s).

Here´s a couple of setup-issues I´m not sure about:

Model-setup:

-Should the reference model(scene) have a group/parentlocator?

-Is it better to put the reference to the origin and do the positioning
when furnishing the scene or should I put it to it´s expected position?

Shading:

I exept shadertweaking on a per-shot base, how do I make sure
referencemodels will stay editable materialwise on a per-shot basis?

Can I override materials and clustersets on references in XSI?

Masterfile:

Are there any naming_conventions unsupported or worth being
noted for referencing?

I/O LOD levels, swap-outs:

How well does editing masterfiles and propagation to references
work? What if I need to to modeling changes that influence the pivot?

Cheers

tim
