Hi Leoung,
even thought your problem seems to derive from Samba,
you may still want to check your (XP box) firewall settings.
Today was another day ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm gave me
the creeps (I do like the firewall in general) by hiding one
of my boxes due to my faulty settings. My IP was changed,
the box became flagged as "Internet Zone" and Zonealarm
blocked connections to it when using shares. Right as it should..
Could be something like that with your connections as well,
XP box requests access but is invisible to Samba server since
any traffic going back towards the XP box is trashed/blocked
and therefor the box can´t be verified to be a legit user for Samba.
(I´m definitely not a sysop/admin expert, as you sure noticed...)
Cheers
tim

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the offer, right now we have decided to go with static ip. It
is a pain but I just need to have the farm up and running.
We are almost there.
If you could e-amail your Config file to me privately that would be
great. We will work on a Dynamic DNS in the future.
Thanks again,
Leoung

Hi Leoung,
If you're using dhcpd and bind for your dns I can pass you config
files we're using here which are working for dynamic dns with hostname
resolution. i.e. the DNS server returns the IP for the machinename.
Cheers,
Alan.

Will,
No. We can't get DNS working on SUSE.
