If your animation is rendered at 16:9 full height 720x576, and you play it back in the flipbook with View>Correct Aspect Ratio checked on, the sequence can look very 'shimmery'. I guess there's some kind of hardware squashing of the flipbook into the correct aspect ratio.
If you uncheck the Correct Aspect Ratio option, everything looks ok.
Just a thought.

Hi All,
I have a problem with rendering a character. When I view the rendered frames, I get this shimmering effect across the character - mostly in the shadows.
At first I thought it was flicker caused by FG, but I've cranked way up the
aliasing and accuracy and reduced the FG min/max radius - but that hasn't
made the slightest difference.
I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing here.
The animation is nothing fancy, just a simple camera move. Here's the setup;
1 hero character
Instanced particles of character
1 reflective ground plane
2 point lights
1 area spotlight
1 Pass with environment texture and 2d color
FG Enable - Accuracy 1800, min .02 max .2
Aliasing min 1 max 2
Jitter enabled
No mo-blur
Any clues?
Cheers
Tony.
