i agree with you john. its harder to flow with the story and
characters if you are "distracted" by admiring the look of a house
edge or trying to figure out what this oddly shaped thing on the left
could be ;)
i see this kind of style much more successfully in animes. with just
some moving 2d backgrounds and characters animated at 5fps, its a
better fusion for me. animation and graphics wise.
but then, for me, the french stuff always stands out because of the
artistical and graphical experiments they do. i seldome like it but i
think its good someone tries the boundaries.
