I get this error whenever I store a constraint into an Action Source, then re-apply later. Thus I suspect this is the same technique referenced models are using as their own workaround for storing and retrieving constraints.
While I've seen the error many times as a result of Action Sources, it's never lead to kinematic failures, so I usually ignore them.
