For the Lumetools, it's the lume_WrapAround lensshader, the addon package is to be found at xsibase.
For the one inside XSI, which is the ?same?, it is the Panoramic lensshader.
Thanks Rob!
Cheers

Hi Alan, Hi Rob,
Thanks for the replies guys. I wouldn´t want to insist on trying to load/link a custom lensshader borrowed from Maya - if there is something compeareable or superior in XSI allready.
Thing is, being a XSI novice means I probably just don´t know where the heck it´s located and what it´s called, that thing.
Whatever, Alan is of course right, Cubic is easy to do with 6 Cameras as well (there´s even finished rigs) instead of stubbornly trying to create a spherical one.
It´s just that I admittedly fancy the idea of being able (someday) to take a *.mi and wrap an spdll around it. Myself, right after doing everything else I promised...
Cheers

P.S: My girlfriend has a Mac! Now everything comes together :)

Why not use the ones already in XSI or the LumeTools version ??
For app there are few free (bad) Windows QTVR converters, for the <cough> Mac there
are some really nice ones... Runs off to wash mouth with soap...

Found the Maya mR shaders, done by Ralf Habel,
http://www.vi-motion.de/latlong_Tutorial/
Is there an *artsy type* way of loading those into XSI?
Cheers

O.k.,
thanks to Jason I got aware of the panoramic lensshader, does the cylindrical rendering quite nicely. One freeware to stuff that into a QuicktimeVR on XP would be Gocubic.
Can be found here (amongst others)
http://www.panoramas.dk/quicktime/qtvr/software.html
Still haven´t found the equivalent to JS_panoramic, a 360° lensshader for Maya and Max...
http://www.pixero.com/downloads_mr.html
I *remember* there is someone else who did something similar but I can neither find the page nor recall the name...
Would appreciate your help, really.
Cheers
tim
P.S: Checked the xsibase and highend...

Subject: QuicktimeVR (lensshader?) from XSI?
Hi folks,
I do a set and need to have a convenient way to present it. Would at first opt for a simple pan but do now see a chance to put in some extra time and play around with setting up a 360° render to be used as input for a QTVR.
Oh, and rendering it in *.hdr may even allow to slap it onto an environmentshader and use it to light extra props while modeling and *guestimating* their fit to desired style, shade/texture them faster and cut down on scenesize and rendertimes.
Any tips&tricks available?
I don´t have Realviz Stitcher or any commercial QTVR programm, anything freely available out there (I wouldn´t necessarily need this for the environment shader just the VR).
Cheers
tim
