particles vanish

Subject : particles vanish

I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm missing something very simple here but
my particles don't seem to render from some camera positions.  They are
there, then I push in and render again and they are gone.  I have checked to
make sure I don't have any objects blocking them, very strange....
