Hi Rainer,

also managed to create an *.obj file that instantly crashes
XSI 5.01. Am currently packing it for uploading it to their
ftp. It´s a Maya 6.0 file containing multiple pieces from a
character, with history not deleted prior to export and
probably some groupnodes not selected when using
File>Export selected in Maya. A prior version works fine.

Maybe you checking for such stuff helps getting your model
to import fine?

Cheers

tim

P.S: Will have to wait until at least monday before I can
download the 5.1....

And I was all excited about a fixed .obj importer (well, nobody promised one
explicit) but I load an older mesh and XSI crashes into the abyss as it did
with 5.0. Not even a friggin error message. 8-(

I was all excited about the Max import option but it appears that you
still need Max8!!!?? What gives?! I thought you could import the max
file format without that horrible piece of software.
