the first comment says why photoshop doesn´t use use the name ADD

"Photoshop doesn't have ADD mode because of a long-standing legal dispute with Quantel."

Yeah, why do they persist in that. I keep forgetting which one it is every

Well, you can finally edit HDR images in 32Bit in Photoshop CS 2 - this is the only reason why I think about upgrading from
version 6 ;-)
But I'm sure it will take another 5 versions until
Photoshop will get
a simple "Additive" Layermode >LOL<
Anyway, it's the standard whatsoever.

I still don't see "THE" 3D app like THE Photoshop on the market.
On a sidenote, no intention to get OT, I?d welcome as much
development take place in the "2D-Photoshop" area as is
happening in the 3D app circus currently.

For 2D I miss:

*true highdynamic range editing not just a *.raw converter...
*2D lighting made easier by an advanced layering/masking system
*vectorbased editing (*.swf) for logo/type stuff
*automatic pass gathering
*displacementpreview, bumppreview, specular preview

Basically, Photoshop does nothing, it just sits there (fat).

Most true innovations come from 2D compositing programs
or 2D/3D paintprograms. The only thing in Photoshop really
re-visited since version 7 is it?s licensing scheme, writting
into the MasterBootRecord of the system disk. umh,...

Whatever.

I like XSI alot.

Seems to constantly evolve.

Cheers
