Fabian, I might not have declared it that way... but the C4D part was an
attempt on an aprils fool joke 8-)....
I have managed to import crazy amounts of poly's into 5.x. ZBrush's Geometry
works well. And due to the fact that the displacement mapping is such a PITA
and I am not really animating anything right now, I just import the mega mio
meshes. No problem. I often use about 2.3-2.5GB in XP32 but it works its way
through. The real challenge are meshes from pretty much anything else. There
are three problem areas in the importer, one is the area with the non
existant error messages, the other the bug with the UV's (wrong W's), and
the other is the area of 'confusing' geometry which shoots the entire system
right out of the saddle without any further comment.
I am sure that it will be fixed till SigGraph. It's in Boston this year,
which is just around the corner for me. I'm getting tar and feathers ready
hahaha. Or should that be Poutine and feathers haha.
